Rijiju Slams Opposition’s “Cheap Politics” After PM Modi’s Powerful Address on Operation Sindoor

Rijiju remarked, “If they still have questions even after the PM’s detailed explanation, I can only pity them. The narrative set by Congress is disturbingly similar to what is coming out of Pakistan.”

Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday called on the Opposition to stop indulging in “cheap politics” following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s detailed address in the Lok Sabha on Operation Sindoor, asserting that the Prime Minister had clearly articulated the government’s position.

“PM Modi explained every aspect categorically and outlined the government’s stand very clearly. After his speech, I hope even the Opposition will abandon its petty politics and stand with the nation,” Rijiju told ANI.

Taking a dig at the Congress, Rijiju remarked, “If they still have questions even after the PM’s detailed explanation, I can only pity them. The narrative set by Congress is disturbingly similar to what is coming out of Pakistan.”

Several BJP MPs, including Mayank Nayak, Maya Naroliya, and Mahima Kumari Mewar, also lauded the Prime Minister’s speech, saying it had effectively dismantled the Opposition’s allegations.

BJP MP Mayank Nayak said, “The PM gave a categorical reply to all the baseless charges made by the Opposition. Unlike previous governments, PM Modi follows a ‘goli ke saamne gola’ approach—speaking in the language the enemy understands. Operation Sindoor was a collective battle won by our jawans and citizens.”

He added that the Prime Minister clarified that there was no international pressure to halt the operation and that no calls were received urging a ceasefire, directly countering the Opposition’s insinuations.

MP Maya Naroliya praised PM Modi’s strategic foresight and the “befitting reply to Pakistan,” urging the Opposition to rise above political rivalries and stand united with the nation and its armed forces.

“Congress has no concrete issues. Their only strategy is to shout and repeat falsehoods,” she said.

Echoing similar sentiments, Mahima Kumari Mewar said the Prime Minister, along with senior ministers including the External Affairs, Home, and Defence Ministers, had responded comprehensively to all questions raised during the debate.

“I believe all of India—ruling and opposition alike—should stand together on matters of national security,” she added.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi, while speaking in the Lok Sabha, hailed Operation Sindoor as a decisive response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, stating that the Indian Armed Forces eliminated terror launch pads across different corners of Pakistan in just 22 minutes.

Calling the Parliament session a “Vijay Utsav” (victory celebration), the Prime Minister praised the courage and efficiency of Indian forces and emphasized that they were given complete operational freedom during the escalating conflict following the May 7 strike.

The discussion on Operation Sindoor has become a focal point of the monsoon session, drawing sharp contrasts between the government’s stance on national security and the Opposition’s criticism.
